Song, © by Michaël Lessard, around 1998 to 2001*
I wrote this before I became an active
citizen, so probably around 1997-1998.
The first verses are meant as a 'follow-through' to the
"songs" Need To Scream and I Await. Otherwise said, the new mood or the evolution is in the
second part of this song.
I Will Stand In Your Way
And I fall inside,
closing in, my lids hold the darkness.
Falling in my warm darkness,
I feel myself floating in the void.
I fold within my inside.
I could sleep here alone forever.
I feel the warm water.
Floating in my emptyness,
Away from the meaninglessness of mankind,
Away from the stupidity of man,
Away from the horrors of the world.
I wan't to go insane, forget the pain.
- repeat -
Sleep forever in a small corner away...
[ Part II ]
But in my life I have learnt,
to love the pain [bang!]
This pain is mine, my own, [strong]
this beauty inside I hold.
I feel the warm water,
in which I will not drown ! [bang!]
Did you think this pain was weakness ?
Did you think my darkness was dim ?
Have you looked me in the eyes !
You may not understand....
but I am not a victim !
No longer a silent child...
Let me break through this bullshit,
feel my rage alive !
I will stand my ground,
I will look you in the eyes
and you'll see the rage and fierceness in my eyes.
You'll leave me space 'cause I've got something to say !
You don't know the meaning of pain...
You insensitive corporation !
You don't know the meaning of pain...
You distant man of power !
You don't know the meaning of pain...
You blinded man of hate.
Is there anything I can say,
You won't let anything reach your heart.
You can ignore my words, but prepare for the fiercest
challenge,
'cause I'll fucken get in your way.
You can ignore our words, but prepare for the fiercest
challenge,
'cause we'll fucken get in your way.
