around 1998.*
I actually sent this
to Kofi Annan when he averted a U.S. attack on Iraq by meeting directly with
the Iraqi government (in 1998 I believe).
All I Need is a Moment of Hope
(slow
and broken) God, I feel -- so heavy
It
just feels -- so heavy; my heart
(soft
normal speed) It’s
like a looming cloud of darkness and blood
The
violence of man is so present
The
war machine is so big
I
feel so small in a world of silence.
All
I need is a moment of hope
(vibrant
and clear) so
I can just write something cool
so
I can stand up and say
so
I can raise my heart and speak
so
I can tell you I -- I care.
All
I need is a moment of hope
(strong) so
I can face mans' hatred in the eyes
(soft) and
say, there are -- other ways
(repeat
and fade) All
I need is a moment of hope.
